Hello Friends!

Hello My Friends! It's been over three weeks since I posted anything. I've really missed interacting with you all. We have been super busy here, though. Our ten year old grandson, Gil, has been visiting us. He has been a real joy (and a little extra work ;-). He's also been a big,big help to Grandma and Grandpa working in our garden.

The garden has and will continue to be a lot of work for all of us, but I do love it so!

I had a great, inspiring, learning time at the Beth Moore conference.

I had a wonderful, wonderful Mother's Day!

Besides all that, Steven and I have been getting even more involved in church activities. Our church is starting up a Marriage and Family Instruction/Counseling Team which Steven and I have committed to getting involved with this summer. We have been doing some informal marriage counseling with a few people that we know and definitely feel that this is God's leading for us now. It's very gratifying to "comfort with the comfort with which we have been comforted"!

Hopefully, I will be able to update my blog on a semi-regular basis. But we shall see.

I have put together a slide-show to show you some of my loves right now. Enjoy!

Birthday Love

Thought I would share with you some photos that I've taken in the last few days. That way I get to spread my birthday joy out for a few more days! :0)

Here is the beautiful hyacinth and card that my sister Elena gave me. Wish you could smell the hyacinth. Heavenly!

Here is the card that my hubby Steven made for me. He made it small so I could carry it in my wallet. But I had to get a magnifying glass to read it! I couldn't stop laughing once I did. You may have to enlarge the picture to read it. I included a dime with the front side so you can get an idea of the scale.

Here is a pile of some of my favorite magazines that Steven indulged me with at Barnes and Nobles. However, my cat Kiki doesn't seem too impressed!

Here is the bouquet of lilies that Steven got me. The delivery date got mixed up, so I didn't get it until Monday, and they didn't start opening 'til yesterday. So another way to extend the joy! ;) You should smell these also--another of my very favorite flowers!

Love and Blessing to All! Denise

Heavenly Blue

I was in the middle of trying to get some of my old artwork into a digital format when Elena did her lovely piece on Morning Glories in her blog. I thought I would share a layout that I did on them from a scrapbook-style art journal that I started several years ago. I surely do love the "Heavenly Blue" variety of Morning Glories, but their ephemeral beauty is difficult to catch in a slow medium like colored pencil! :)
